  • Founded in Hiroshima Japan. Inspired by Japanese culture and style with is simplicity towards expression of life. Co-founders Joe Kamana and Jordan Schmidt wanted to create “epic threads”, modern street wear that was timeless by design, comfortable and afforded luxury which they and their friends loved to wear. Inspired by the word IIKANJI an expression that simply acknowledges appreciation and love for anything and everything experienced. It would become the brand name and a mark of quality reflected in every piece we make.

Joe Kamana 

Founder

Originally from New Zealand, of Cook Island heritage. Joe now calls Japan home. His quiet nature has always served him well. Absorbing and appreciating moments with good people is part of Joe’s fabric, IIKANJI his mantra. As a professional athlete travelling extensively, Joes love and understanding of street wear and its evolution broadened. A style that flows through time, embraces self-expression and creativity in an a supremely authentic way.

Joe’s love for fashion and epic threads was founded from a place of inspiration and appreciation. Bound by memories of growing up having had very little, he vividly remembers the moment he was given his first iconic piece of fashion. He poured over the details of how it was made, the material used, in awe he couldn’t wear it till a few weeks later. “The experience was everything, when I design IIKANJI pieces I want those moments of pure satisfaction for our customers, followers of legit style and quality”.

Jordan Schmidt 

Founder

Based in Melbourne Australia, of Māori Samoan heritage. Jordan’s upbringing shaped his love from dressing well and appreciation for well-made threads matched for the occasion. Appreciation for good vibes, great times and moments with cool people he loves to be around is part of Jordan edge. As a young professional athlete, he had the privilege to travel the world experiencing countries like France that exposed him to world class fashion and style. Returning to Melbourne he realised his talent for entrepreneurship and sales, which have proven strengths to launching the IIKANJI brand. Style selection and product design is a passion of his and forms a conduit of inspiration. “I want you to feel the very currents of positivity and appreciation that ignited the IIKANJI journey, in each product we make”.
